Tour the vast collection at National Monument (Monas) At the top of the flame, which represents the nation's independence, is a sparkling gold leaf covering 50 kg. The basement has an exhibit of 50 dramatic dioramas showing Indonesia's history from prehistoric times to the present. Next, you can explore Jakarta's spiritual landmarks with a tour of Istiqlal Mosque, Southeast Asia's largest mosque. It's known for its grand architecture and serene ambiance. Then, check out Jakarta Cathedral Church, a great example of Christian architecture, with its stunning neo-gothic style and rich cultural heritage. You'll find a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of Indonesia's capital. You should stop by one of Jakarta's batik shops to check out their great selection and interesting permanent exhibition of batik, traditional Indonesian cloth, in both classic and modern designs. Then, head over to the Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah), an extensive theme park set over 180 hectares on the outskirts of Jakarta. The park features realistic miniature reproductions of all Indonesian islands in a central lake, surrounded by pavilions representing the 33 provinces of Indonesia. Each pavilion shows off traditional architectural styles, cultural items, and exhibits. Inside the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is Museum Indonesia, a three-story building in traditional Balinese architecture. The museum has a huge collection of Indonesian contemporary arts and crafts, traditional costumes from various regions, puppets, musical instruments, masks, and daily life utensils.
