Ciwidey is area in South Bandung with beautiful natural scenery. Ciwidey Tourism is also a favorite destination for domestic and foreign tourists when visiting the capital city of West Java. Favorite tourist destinations are the white crater and lake patenggang. Kawah Putih is a tourist attraction in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, West Java. This tourist spot is a lake formed from the eruption of Mount Patuha. In fact, the Kawah Putih area is the crater of Mount Patuha. However, this name is less popular and tourists are more familiar with it as Kawah Putih. This area covers an area of 10 ha at an altitude of approximately 2,400 meters above sea level. So, the temperature in this tourist area is quite cold, ranging from 8 to 22 degrees Celsius. Kawah Putih is a very acidic lake with a Ph of around 05 - 1,3. With this acidity level, the lake water can change color from bluish, whitish, green, or brown. The color of this lake changes depending on sulfur and temperature or oxygen conditions. Meanwhile, the ground of Kawah Putih is white. History of Kawah Putih According to experts, Kawah Putih was formed in the X and Xii centuries when a volcanic eruption occurred which formed a large, very beautiful crater. but this beauty is not known to the local community, in fact many people consider the area to be haunted. It is also believed that birds that pass through this area will die. This is because, according to local people's beliefs, at the top of the mountain there are 7 graves of ancestors, each name of which begins with grandparent. The seven names are Eyang Jaga Satru, Rangsa Sadana, Camat, Ngabai, Eyang Barabak, Baskom, and Jambrong. In 1837, a Dutchman of German descent named Dr Franz Wilhelm Junghuhn 1809 visited southern Bandung (Ciwidey). At that time, he looked at the mountain area which looked desolate, there wasn't even a single bird on it. Then, he looked for information about this oddity.Includes
