Description
Krakatau, also known internationally as Krakatoa or Rakata, is an active volcanic island located in the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra, within the Rajabasa District of South Lampung Regency. The volcano includes several islands: Rakata, Panjang, Sertung, and Anak Krakatau, the latter formed after the catastrophic 1883 eruption.
Mount Krakatau is historically significant due to its 1883 eruption, one of the most destructive natural events in history.
