Begin your day at the Textile Museum, where you’ll learn about Indonesia’s traditional textiles, including batik, ikat, and songket. you will join a short batik painting demonstration. Next, head to the National Museum of Indonesia to discover the country’s rich history, archaeology, culture, and ethnic diversity. See ancient Hindu-Buddhist statues, gold collections, and traditional artifacts. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and enjoy authentic Indonesian cuisine. Try dishes like nasi goreng (fried rice), soto ayam (chicken soup), gado-gado (vegetable salad with peanut sauce), and satay. After lunch, visit the National Monument (Monas), Indonesia’s most iconic landmark. Learn about Indonesia’s independence and take photos around Merdeka Square. If time permits and the queue is reasonable, visit the observation deck. Continue to Glodok, one of the oldest Chinatowns in Indonesia. Visit traditional Chinese temples, walk through local markets and narrow streets filled with history, and sample traditional Chinese-Indonesian snacks. End your tour in Kota Tua (Jakarta Old Town). Walk around the historic Fatahillah Square, admire the Dutch colonial architecture, and hear stories about Batavia during the Dutch East Indies period.
