Description

Embark on a six-day journey across Java from Jakarta or Bandung. Board an executive train to Yogyakarta, taking in scenic views of rice terraces, rolling hills, and volcanic peaks. Meet your guide at Yogyakarta Station, transfer to your hotel, and rest. Day two focuses on Java's ancient heritage at two UNESCO World Heritage sites. Start at Borobudur Temple, the world's largest Buddhist monument, to admire intricate stone carvings and stupas. After lunch, visit Prambanan Temple, Indonesia's largest Hindu temple compound, known for its tall spires dedicated to Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, before returning to your hotel. On day three, take an overland transfer to East Java toward Pronojiwo in Lumajang. Pass through rural towns and changing topographies from lowland plains to highland slopes. Arrive at Pronojiwo near Mount Semeru, check into your lodge, and enjoy the cool mountain air to prepare for the next day's trek. Day four begins with an exhilarating trek at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, known as the Niagara of Indonesia. Enjoy panoramic views from above, then descend into the canyon to feel its cool mist. Afterward, drive through winding mountain roads to the Mount Bromo area, check into your hotel, and rest early. Day five starts before dawn with a four-wheel-drive jeep ride to a sunrise viewpoint overlooking Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru. Cross the Sea of Sand and climb to the active crater rim. Return to the hotel for breakfast, check out, and head to Bondowoso to rest before the midnight hike. The final day begins at midnight with a drive to Paltuding for the Mount Ijen trek. Hike up to the crater rim to witness the rare electric blue flames and the turquoise acid lake at sunrise. Descend to basecamp, head to Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, and take a ferry across the Bali Strait to Gilimanuk, Bali, concluding your journey.
