Description

Mount Salak is an active stratovolcano with several craters, and we will visit Kawah Ratu, the youngest and largest crater in its volcanic system. Although the volcano has not experienced a major eruption since the early 20th century, the crater remains geothermally active, producing steam vents (fumaroles), hot springs, and sulfur gas. These features make it an important site for geological and geothermal research The trek to Kawah Ratu is considered moderate and suitable for hikers with a reasonable level of fitness. The trail usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours one way, depending on the starting point and pace. Along the journey, visitors pass through dense rainforest, cross clear streams, and enjoy scenic waterfalls before reaching the volcanic crater
